چکیده

A stopped-flow injection (FI) spectrophotometric procedure based on iodometric reaction for the determination of chlorate has been developed. Standard/sample was injected into a stream of potassium iodide solution and then merged with a stream of hydrochloric acid solution to produce triiodide. By stopping the flow while the sample zone is being in a mixing coil, a slow reaction of chlorate with iodide in acidic medium was promoted to proceed with minimal dispersion of the triiodide product zone. When the flow started again, a concentrated product zone was pushed into a flow cell and a signal profile due to light absorption of the product was recorded. Employing a lab-built semi-automatic stopped-FI analyser, the analysis can be performed with higher degree of automation and low chemical consumption. Linear calibration graph in the range of 5-50 mg ClO3 L was obtained, with detection limit of 1.4 mg ClO3 L. Relative standard deviation of 2.2% (30 mg ClO3 L, n=10) and sample throughput of about 20 h were achieved. The system was applied to soil samples and validated by batch spectrophotometric and standard titrimetric methods.

Determination of trace amounts of bromide by flow injection/stopped-flow detection technique using kinetic-spectrophotometric method.

A simple, sensitive and selective method for the determination of bromide in seawater by using a flow injection/stopped-flow detection technique was examined. The detection system was developed for a new kinetic-spectrophotometric determination of bromide in the presence of chloride matrix without any extraction and/or separation. The detection was based on the kinetic effect of bromide on the ...

Stopped-flow injection liquid-liquid extraction spectrophotometric determination of palladium in airborne particulate matter and automobile catalysts.

A stopped-flow injection liquid-liquid extraction (SF-EX-FIA) spectrophotometric method is reported for the determination of palladium(II), using the 2,2'-dipyridyl-2-pyridylhydrazone (DPPH) as a color forming reagent. The colored complex Pd(II)-DPPH was extracted in CHCl(3) and the absorbance was monitored at 560 nm. An injection valve was used as a commutator in order to combine the stopped-f...

Flow Injection Spectrophotometric Determination of Sulphide by Catalytic Reduction of Toluidine Blue

Sulphide was determined spectrophotometrically at 628 nm and pH 6.7 based on its catalytic reduction of toluidine blue in the presence of Se(IV) using a flow injection system. After optimization of the measuring conditions the calibration curve was found linear up to 25 mg/mL and the detection limit was 0.3 mg/mL (30 mL injections). The ...

Spectrophotometric determination of catecholamines with metaperiodate by flow-injection analysis

A flow-injection spectrophotometric method for the determination of adrenaline and isoprenaline, based on the reaction with metaperiodate, is described. The calibration graphs are linear up to 2X 10e4 M. Flow injection allows the measurement of 120 samples per hour. The method was successfully applied to the determination of both catecholamines in pharmaceuticals.
